December is always a dope time of the year cause of all the lists that get released. We get to see what happened online, which trends had the most impact, and so much more. This time we’ve got the “Most Searched Celebs” list, pretty much showcasing who made the biggest impact in 2013. I would think Kanye West and Miley were all over the place, here’s the final list from Bing. (Click on the image below to enlarge)
The numbers are in and Call of Duty: Ghosts reportedly made $1 Billion yesterday. It set the record for biggest opening day drop, topping the previous mark of $800 million by Grand Theft Auto V. Not too shabby, Activision.
Seattle’s Decibel Festival celebrated it’s 10 year anniversary this year, and it was quite the event. From over 25,000 attendees, the festival made a big splash in the electronic music community both locally and nationwide. With 68 total performances from acts including, Flosstradamus, Henry Krinkle, Aeroplane, John Tejada and more, Decibel had something for everyone, and with the help of partners like Red Bull Music Academy and KEXP, this year’s festival boasted some pretty incredible secret shows and live workshops and seminars.
We were able to check out a handful of showcases and are more than excited to see what Decibel brings to us for next years festival. Visit the official Decibel site for more from this year’s festival, and even more information about what’s next from the good folks over at dB. Thanks for having us, and we’ll see you next year!
Here are a few upcoming shows from dB Festival:
October 23 – Empire of the sun at The Paramount
October 27 – RL Grime at The Neptune
November 20 – James Blake w/ Nosaj Thing at The Showbox Sodo
RK Hooligans/PG Fam Terrence and Tenoa linked up with the homie Ricky Cole from Mos Wanted Crew to put together another sick dance video. This time they went over HBK Gang’s Go Crazy. Watch and learn from 3 of the nicest dancers in the game right now! Rich Kids spotted in the video too. Like this video if you’ve got your Hooligans beanie or crewneck!
This was arguably the biggest song of the summer. The Mike Will Made It produced Pour It Up by Rihanna. There is now video treatment for the summer hit, and boy does Rihanna pour it on…or up? Well whatever she’s doing we like it. Check out the video below and let us know your thoughts.
Had to post this today because it’s just so ridiculous. Have a good laugh and enjoy a video with a ridiculous over-the-top production. It works in some weird kind of way though. VERSACE VERSACE!!! Sorry no Drizzy on this version.
The ethereal, elegant, and elusive pop singer has released her feverishly anticipated new EP earlier today. You’ve probably heard of Banks from her super popular single Fall Over, which released earlier this year. The track took the internet and the industry by storm, which Banks herself cites as being influenced by Lauryn Hill and Fiona Apple. Banks has put a track from the London EP on her Soundcloud page for everyone to listen to now. Check out the shadowy “This is What it Feels Like” below and be sure to download the entire 4-track London EP on iTunes now.
Banks is currently on tour with The Weeknd. Check tour dates for when she’ll be in your town!
What do you do after you win your second NBA title and solidify your position as arguably the best player in the league? Well you make a sitcom about your life on Starz, duh. Lebron James is producing a new show on Starz called “Survivor’s Remorse” that will be somewhat based on his life and making it to the top from nothing. He won’t star in the show of course, but it should still be an interesting project. The story will follow two characters from the streets who attain fame through different avenues and how they deal with the ups and downs of it all. “I think the main thing for me is, first of all, making it out of a place where you’re not supposed to. You’re supposed to be a statistic and end up like the rest of the people in the inner city — [and] being one of the few to make it out and everyone looking at you to be the savior,” James said in a phone interview last week.
The Seattle rumor mill is working overtime (of course it is, we’re the hardest working city in the country) today as word spreads that Macklemore and Ryan Lewis are shooting a new music video in Seattle. Reports currently are coming in via twitter that Mack will be starting his shoot at 6pm on Broadway in the Capitol Hill neighborhood of Seattle. We have reason to believe differently, but don’t quote us, it’s all just rumors at this point. Keep your ears open though! You never know what could happen!
If he does actually shoot a video, what song do you think it’ll be for?
This is an extremely interesting collaboration. A Bathing Ape, which is one of the most highly sought after brands created by Nigo is teaming up with Playboy. I don’t think Playboy really needs any introduction. On one hand I like when brands from different markets team up, but on the other hand I’m not sure it really fits Bape’s brand image. It should be interesting to see how this collection is received by the people. What are your thoughts?
