So say you started an app that allows you to send quick videos or pics to your friends and then they disappear once viewed? Well one man named Evan Spiegel did such a thing when he invented SnapChat and everyone is using it, 350 million “snaps” to be exact. Now he got an offer from Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg to buy the company for $3 Billion and turned it down! I’m sorry but I don’t see how you turn down that kind of money when the app is obviously in its prime right now. Click HERE to read the full story.
The numbers are in and Call of Duty: Ghosts reportedly made $1 Billion yesterday. It set the record for biggest opening day drop, topping the previous mark of $800 million by Grand Theft Auto V. Not too shabby, Activision.
This could be considered video of the day, maybe video of the week for that matter. Who would’ve thought of these two running into each other. It’s DMX and Apple Co-Founder Steve Wozniak. TMZ behind the lens to let us know how it all went down.
Seattle’s Decibel Festival celebrated it’s 10 year anniversary this year, and it was quite the event. From over 25,000 attendees, the festival made a big splash in the electronic music community both locally and nationwide. With 68 total performances from acts including, Flosstradamus, Henry Krinkle, Aeroplane, John Tejada and more, Decibel had something for everyone, and with the help of partners like Red Bull Music Academy and KEXP, this year’s festival boasted some pretty incredible secret shows and live workshops and seminars.
We were able to check out a handful of showcases and are more than excited to see what Decibel brings to us for next years festival. Visit the official Decibel site for more from this year’s festival, and even more information about what’s next from the good folks over at dB. Thanks for having us, and we’ll see you next year!
Here are a few upcoming shows from dB Festival:
October 23 – Empire of the sun at The Paramount
October 27 – RL Grime at The Neptune
November 20 – James Blake w/ Nosaj Thing at The Showbox Sodo
When I woke up this morning there was something very interesting in my SnapChat feed. They’ve added a new feature called “Stories”. Yeah I know, super technical title. Now you can take your snaps and feed them into a story of pictures. Once your story is complete you can send it to all of your friends and show them your entire day or anything you’d like. Say you’re at a concert and only want to capture the past parts of it. This where you would feed your story book and then share your best moments to the contacts list. It’s all pretty simple, but if you need a more visual description just watch the video below.
It’s pretty fair to say that Blackberry is goin’ through it right now. As a former BB enthusiast I definitely feel for em, but they are making some strange decisions. Namely, they are going to feature Blackberry Messenger as an app for iPhone and Android. Don’t get me wrong I used to love BBM, but who in their right mind is going to download and use this thing on an iPhone? No one, that’s who. They reportedly lost $1 Billion last quarter and are laying off around 4,500 employees. Times are tough.
Water is essential to life, so why not spend money to make sure you get the best quality h2O (no water boy)? Panasonic has a solution for us with their new ZK1H kettle. Not only does it look great with a sleek, stainless steel design, but it also comes equipped with LED indicators and a number of functions to make it the most useful in your kitchen.
