YES!!! Finally somebody important says it. Not sure if you’ve noticed but a lot of rappers have been going the whole “electro” route just to keep up internationally but it totally downplays what they can do in hip-hop. A lot of artists are selling out just to get the “club bangers” and Drake finally comes out to say that he does not want to go that direction. He specifically speaks on working with David Guetta and how that is not a route he would want to take. I’m sure he still has respect for what Guetta does, just not Drake’s style.
“For me, the David Guetta stuff just doesn’t work. I don’t really wanna go there. There’s other artists, that’s their sound. They feel in order to thrive internationally that they gotta do straightforward, four to the floor, David Guetta, Pitbull music.
