So being that this was one of the most anticipated tracks of 2012, it’s a must that we give you our opinion on the song. At first it seemed like this was going to be “Song of the year” or something with how much promotion went into it. It really seemed like he was counting down the months, weeks, days, and hours this entire year. When we first heard that Mike Posner was helping out with the track it was expected that he would be on there, but he wasn’t and that was somewhat disappointing. Not that Justin Bieber doesn’t kill the track with his voice but it would have been nice to see him and Posner collaborate vocally. The beat is pretty simple but unique in its own way which is what makes the song stand out most. The silent “whisper” rap that Bieber does in the beginning is cool and I’m sure all the little 12 year old girls loved it, but it’s nothing outside of his creative capabilities. The most impressive aspect vocally would have to be when he goes falsetto and gives us some “Justin Timberlake like” notes. Sounds just like Justin Timberlake and some critics are saying that he hit the high notes better. I’d say those critics are getting a little ahead of themselves. Overall it’s a pretty good song but had way too much hype behind it. Bieber is also working with artists like Drake and Kanye West for his next singles which will hopefully make a larger impact.
