As you may already know, mostly everybody from the brand went to Las Vegas this week (Sunday-Wednesday) for Magic which is one of the biggest fashion/clothing conventions in the world. This was one of the best experiences we’ve ever had as a brand especially because we were all there together. It was amazing to see some of the designers and brand owners that inspire us each and every day like Benny Gold, Nicky Diamonds, and Jeff Staples, to name a few. There were also plenty of celebrities in town including Lil’ Wayne, Rick Ross, Soulja Boy, 2 Chainz, Jim Jones, Swizz Beatz, and many more.
The first night of our Vegas trip was an adventure just getting over there. Since some of the team had separate flights, it was tough getting everyone there at the same time and half of our group was stuck at the airport until 7PM when their flight was supposed to leave around 11 in the morning. Even though our marketing director, social media director, and other members of the team were stuck, they still made the best of what they had and made some great connections with fellow travelers stuck at the airport waiting to head to Magic.
Once the whole team got to Vegas it was game time, not only did we know this was our time to get out there and make some major connections, but it was also time to enjoy being with the whole team and build a stronger bond within our brand. As we all know Vegas is unlike any other place out there, where you can get caught up in the lights and lose focus, but we knew we had a task at hand preparing for our first Magic event at the Deuce Lounge in the Aria Hotel. This was our main focus on Monday, so we hit the streets, pool parties, and convention letting people know about our party and spreading the message of our brand. The turnout for our party ended up being great and we hooked a lot of people up with some exclusive Rich Kids x Vegas gear. The first 50 people to walk in the door walked away with an exclusive Hooligan t-shirt, some stickers, and other promo gear. Another great aspect of the party was having Seattle’s very own Jerry Wang spinning on the 1′s and 2′s for the nights entertainment. Other talent from the NW that joined us at the party were both hip-hop artists Eighty4Fly, Fierce Villain, and J. Pinder. It was great meeting all the people that attended and letting them know about our message and mission. We’d like to give a HUGE thank you to the Deuce Lounge and the Light Group in Vegas for giving us this amazing opportunity to have a party in Vegas during Magic weekend.
Tuesday was our last day to really make an impact; a few members of the team spent the day at Magic linking up with online vendors and other boutiques. This day was especially beneficial because we got reconnected with some people we met at the party the night before and expand on more details about the brand. After networking and handing out promo gear, we returned to our suite at MGM to reconvene and plan our last night in Vegas. After throwing around a couple of options we thought it would be best to get ready and make our way over to Marquee around 11 PM. DJ Vice (one of RK’s favorite DJs) was spinning so we already knew that the music was going to be way more than on point. He’s especially one of our favorite DJs because of the way he can blend hip-hop and house music together giving his audience the best of both worlds. For some of the team members this was their first time at Marquee which can be one hell of an experience. Seeing a club that size packed with beautiful people can be a little overwhelming, but once we all got in there it was time to celebrate all the hard work we put in during the day. The dance floor was packed right when we got there but we made our way to the front and joined in with the rest of the crowd. Naturally our group ended up getting split up, but for the most part we all stuck together and got out of there around 4 am and headed straight to McDonald’s to munch like we’ve never seen food before. Some of our staff had flights at 9 AM which were nearly missed but ended up catching them by some miracle.
Overall this was a great experience for the whole team and we can say that it definitely made us stronger as a brand. There’s a huge difference between working with people every day and having to spend three days straight with them. The best part was that it made no difference and we all got to share a great time together in Vegas. It really brought us together and showed that we are much more than co-workers striving for the same goal. We’re a team of really good friends that were brought together through this brand with the values of loyalty and hard work, plus following our motto of being rich with friends and family. We’d like to thank everyone that was involved in our trip to Vegas and all of the great new people we met for checking us out and giving us the time of day. We especially, once again, want to thank YOU for following us, Tweeting, sharing, “liking” commenting, and overall supporting our movement. Rich Kids Brand has some very big plans for the fall which we can’t wait to share with you and the rest of our supporters; “Rich is not what you have, it’s who you have beside you”.
