There we go! I knew this album was way too good not to do some big numbers. Wale has officially debuted at #1 and sold 158,000 copies in the first week. This was seriously Wale’s best work to date and you can tell by how much he spazzes on each track. Clap for him.
Nike is always up to something, and this one is just another notch on the belt. Their “Home Turf” series debuted last month, and this is just one pair of many in the collection. Alot of these would look great with our new Rich Kids Brand Spring 2013 Collection. Freshness Mag has more information about the Home Turf series:
The term “lifestyle trainers” sounded like an oxymoron to many European at the time. Yet, Nike forged ahead in 1987 and brought the very first Air Max onto the shores of the Old World. While at first deemed by locals as an impossible feat, a following quickly grew in cities like London, Milan, and Paris. A decade after, the Nike Air Max and all of its variations enmeshed themselves onto local subcultures, much like how Air Force 1 became part of streetballers’ ensembles here in the U.S.
To highlight the symbiotic relationship between the three cities and the Nike Air Max family, Nike Sportswear created the “Home Turf” Collection. A total of 12 designs, with each pack of four linking to each city. For London, it is the contrast between modernity and traditions with Nike Air Max 1 Hyperfuse, the Nike Air Max 90 Hyperfuse, the Nike Air Max 1 2013 and the Nike Air Max 95. For the city of Milan, it is able the luxe life and premium craftsmanship with Air Max 97 2013, the Air Max 1, Air Max 97 and Air Max 90. Finally, for Paris, the City of Light, it is about timeless classics and the familiar naval-inspired stripes with Air Max Classic BW, Air Max 90, Air Max 2013 and Air Max 1 Hyperfuse.
The European love affair will start this Friday February 15th, with limited availability at select Nike Sportswear retailers. A general release will take place next month on March 27th.
Yo yo yo yo yo yo yo…. so we are back once again with the rest of MTV’s “Hottest MCs” list. This list has already caused a lot of controversy including Kanye West calling in to tell Sway he gave him his first TV, A$AP Rocky not agreeing with anything on the list, and Lil’ Wayne once again being named the best rapper alive… by Kanye. So over all there’s just been a lot of Kanye all over this list even though he got the #7 spot. Here’s the rest of the list.
It makes sense that Nas would get the #4 spot, he did very well with his album “Life is Good” and frankly he’s a legend that everyone was waiting on new music from. Just being Nas alone should put him up there, dude will definitely be in the hip-hop Hall of Fame, as if he isn’t already.
#3: Rick Ross
Ugh! You gotta have the boss up in the mix this year. The main reason I feel that he should be on this list isn’t just because of his personal success, but because of all the people he put on. Look at Meek Mill, Wale, Stalley, Rockie Fresh… shit he even brought Omarion back. Rick Ross will always have a stash of hits, but he’s great at making others shine with his MMG empire.
#2: 2 Chainz
Who didn’t see this coming? If you’re talking about buzz alone, 2 Chainz could easily be #1. He got commercials, movies, shows, products, and everything else under the sun. We even got to go to one of his shows this year in Seattle and he had the Showbox turned up more than ever. Props to 2 Chainz on all the success this year, he definitely put in the hard work to get there. Don’t forget that the man that used to go by Titty Boi has been in this game for a very long time, it is definitely his time to shine.
#1: Kendrick Lamar
“I’m Kendrick Lamar, a.k.a benz is to me just a car” <<< one of the best hottest bars of the year. “Greh I know want this Dih!” on “Problems” is also a very powerful one this year. There’s no need for an explanation here. He released an instant classic album this year and sells out shows no matter if they’re in the United States or overseas. If Kendrick didn’t get the #1 spot MTV would be in some serious trouble and their panel might all need to start looking for new jobs. Congrats to K.Dot, he has a very promising career ahead oh himself.
Well these guys just keep making Seattle more and more proud each and every day. After going platinum a week ago Macklemore and Ryan Lewis’ hit single “Thrift Shop” is now the #1 song in the United States. This is the first EVER independent rap song to hit the #1 spot. Congratulations to the entire #SharkFaceGang on this incredible accomplishment. The last rapper to hit the #1 spot from Seattle was Sir Mix a Lot with “Baby Got Back”.
Looks like for the first time in a while Kanye West decided to abandon his Yeezy II’s and step out in some retro Jordan 1 sneakers. These are the Jordan 1 “Black/Royals” and they were released in 2001. Kim at his side as always…
These will come out during the Spring season so get ready for another major Jordan release. This colorway really stood out when looking for new kicks coming soon.
Uh oh… more drug stories. According to The Chicago Tribune, Bears receiver Sam Hurd accepted a kilogram of cocaine from a confidential informant and an undercover agent posing as a drug supplier. Hurd was charged with conspiring to purchase a kilo of cocaine with intent to distribute. At the Wednesday night meeting Hurd had set up to buy anywhere from 1 to 5 kilos of cocaine and 1,000 pound of marijuana for distribution in the Chicago area. The Bears issued this statement about the incident.
“We are aware of Sam’s arrest and are continuing to gather details surrounding it. We are disappointed whenever these circumstances arise. We will deal with them appropriately once we have all the information.”
Looks like The Throne wasn’t being watched well enough cause now The Game is sitting at #1 after moving 97,879 copies this week putting The R.E.D. Album at #1. This is his 3rd #1 album. Congrats to The Game… keep doin’ ya thing Chuck!
The answer to that question is, why not? Thanks to the crazy amount of technology we have, you can now your own pet (robot) triceratops. Animatronic Triceratops to be exact. For $350,000 it can be yours. He/She stands at 20 ft tall and weighs 1,300 lbs. It can also sense your motion and follow you around like a dog. Won’t tear through the house too, so they say. I’m thinking if we get too smart with these things, the robots will turn on us and hey…. dinosaurs are back in action!
