While in Australia Mac Miller was working on lots of new music and just so happened to make an all instrumental mixtape. He’s not usually known for making beats but some of these are pretty dope. Check it out below.
All of the beats on Kendrick Lamar’s recent album were amazing, including “Sherane” produced by Tha Bizness. In the video below they take us through the step-by-step process of creating the beat. Really cool to see them incorporate real instruments and their own voice with effects.
Seems like a lot of people are going after Mac Miller these days for sampling their songs without permission. This time we have a man by the name of Patrick Berlinquette aka “Warm Speakers” suing Mac for sampling his music on the song “The World Around You” which was on Macadellic.
In the complaint, Berlinquette says “[Miller] uses other people’s music because it’s easier, cheaper, and faster than creating his own.” Adding: “Miller seeks to capitalize on the common misconception in Copyright Law that people whose music he takes have no remedy if he gives their music away for free.”
We’ll see how this one plays out since the only real case is that he may have used the song to gain fame since the mixtape was put out for free. Hopefully Mac doesn’t get sued out of his career as he’s already facing another $10 million lawsuit.
If for some weird reason you didn’t watch tonight’s NCAA championship and missed the game, we’ve got the highlights right here for you. Always looking out for our fans, that’s what we do around here. Kentucky won the game 67-79 with top performers being Kansas’ Thomas Robinson scoring 18 points and Daron Lamb of Kentucky with 22 points. Kentucky lead pretty much the whole game but Kansas tried to keep it close at the end. For all of the coverage and complete highlights click here.
No offense to any women’s sports fanatics out there, but it’s highly unlikely that we post A LOT about women’s basketball on here. Not this time though, not when Notre Dame beats Mercer a whopping 128-42. This was the highest scoring game in the school’s history and moved the team to 13-1 for the season. They also set record for most points in a half (72), largest margin of victory (82), and most free throws made (43). Pretty amazing feat for any team to do, great way to end 2011.
Looks like the Roc Nation just keeps expanding. Seriously, every artist they sign is an automatic superstar, I mean look at J.Cole. They got Kanye West and Jay-Z involved in there too, and now they pick up free agent Jalil beats. Be on the lookout for lots of good music coming your way from this guy, great producer.
So we had @skullcandy stop in at the @richkidsbrand office yesterday with their JAMbulance. That’s what I’ve named it. They’ve converted an old Medical Emergency van into a fully decked out Skullcandy-mobile, equipped with products, plush seats, tvs, and beats! It’s so sick. Oh and here’s the coolest part…it runs on vegetable oil! Now THAT’s rich.
