Well would you look at that. Drake just dropped his album “Nothing was the Same” and the hit track “Hold on We’re Going Home” is already platinum (1 million digital purchases on iTunes). Oh and then Eminem who doesn’t even have an album out goes platinum with his most recent track “Berzerk” (in less than three months). Drake is killing it right now and is the talk of all rap music, but rappers better watch their release dates once Eminem drops his album. Mark your calendars, “Marshall Mathers LP is coming November 5th.
There we go! I knew this album was way too good not to do some big numbers. Wale has officially debuted at #1 and sold 158,000 copies in the first week. This was seriously Wale’s best work to date and you can tell by how much he spazzes on each track. Clap for him.
Somebody’s getting fired at J.C. Penney today or their PR department is having a field day. A new billboard went up and is causing a buzz storm all across the internet. Mainly because the tea kettle on the billboard resembles Hitler.

After going platinum a week ago Macklemore and Ryan Lewis’ hit single “Thrift Shop” is now the #1 song in the United States. This is the first EVER independent rap song to hit the #1 spot. Congratulations to the entire #SharkFaceGang on this incredible accomplishment. The last rapper to hit the #1 spot from Seattle was Sir Mix a Lot with “Baby Got Back”.
It’s no surprise that A$AP Rocky’s album did very well selling 141,003 copies in the first week. He’s always had a core fan base that comes through for him and the album was an incredible piece of work. Even with the project leaking about a month early everything still went well on the sales chart to put A$AP Rocky at the top with “Long.Live.A$AP”.

Looks like Rihanna has done it again with another number 1 album under her belt. This time her album “Unapologetic” sold 238,000 copies in the first week. Not bad numbers at all…
