After going platinum a week ago Macklemore and Ryan Lewis’ hit single “Thrift Shop” is now the #1 song in the United States. This is the first EVER independent rap song to hit the #1 spot. Congratulations to the entire #SharkFaceGang on this incredible accomplishment. The last rapper to hit the #1 spot from Seattle was Sir Mix a Lot with “Baby Got Back”.
It’s no surprise that A$AP Rocky’s album did very well selling 141,003 copies in the first week. He’s always had a core fan base that comes through for him and the album was an incredible piece of work. Even with the project leaking about a month early everything still went well on the sales chart to put A$AP Rocky at the top with “Long.Live.A$AP”.
5 months after surfacing on the internet, Macklemore and Ryan Lewis’ hit single “Thrift Shop” has gone platinum. Couldn’t be more proud of these guys putting on for Seattle and bringing a brand new sound to the rest of the world. Can’t deny that whenever this track comes on in the club everyone goes absolutely crazy. The song is currently number 10 on the Billboard Hot 100.

Looks like Rihanna has done it again with another number 1 album under her belt. This time her album “Unapologetic” sold 238,000 copies in the first week. Not bad numbers at all…
Trust us. When Rihanna drops her album “Unapologetic”, she’s going to do crazy numbers on the charts. So it’s only right to give her the cover of Billboard Magazine. This is the November 24th issue.
For some of the haters out there that think Lil’ Wayne is done focusing on music, take a step back and look at this. “Celebration” the song with Game, Wiz, and Tyga has entered the #82 spot on the Billboard charts which means that Lil’ Wayne has now been on there 109 times, beating Elvis’ previous record of 108. Congratulations to Lil’ Wayne for having such a successful music career, this is huge.

Looks like Drake can add another great accomplishment to his music career, with “No Lie” (2 Chainz featuring Drake) going number 1 on the charts, this gives Drake 10 singles that have hit number 1. The previous record holder was Jay-Z with 9 and Lil’ Wayne behind him with 8. So he’s basically passed up his boss and one of the most powerful men in hip-hop. Drake is still at an early stage of his career so expect a lot more of these to come.
