Yahoo buys Tumblr for $1.1 Billion

Looks like the deal that has been talked about all weekend is finally going through. Yahoo’s financial board has approved the $1.1 billion acquisition of Tumblr which will officially be announced on Monday. Yahoo was really the only company going after the blogging platform and still offered such a large amount. Tumblr CEO David Karp will stay at Yahoo for four more years and make sure everything flows the right way. Click HERE for the full story.

Microsoft buys Internet Startup Yammer for $1.2 Billion

Looks like another startup just made a lot of money thanks to a very powerful company. Remember when FB bought Instagram for $1 Billion? Well now Microsoft has bought Yammer, which is a Facebook type of website for business. The final selling price was $1.2 Billion. Someone just has a VERY huge pay day. Tom Benson Buys New Orleans Hornets for $338 Million

One of the major reasons for why the Hornets have been playing so bad is that they currently don’t have an owner, so making trades and all that is more difficult. Birdman Buys Bentleys for Mack Maine and Weezy

Birdman seems like such a nice dude. Gives out turkeys, makes Superstar artists, and then buys them Bentleys to celebrate their success. In this next video he gets them for Lil’ Wayne and Mack Maine. Looks like that $5 million bet didn’t hurt him a bet.

Drake Moves into $9 Million Los Angeles Mansion

Drake sold some condos in Miami and is now living in Los Angeles at his new mansion which was $9 million. The place features 6 bedrooms, 10 bathrooms, a tennis court, wine cellar, volleyball court, 24-seat theatre, and a 5-stall horse facility with a riding arena.  Whoa.

Waka Flocka Buys a Maybach

Sometimes when you’re not looking the best news can come to you. I was just browsing through my Twitter news feed and saw that Waka Flocka tweeted the picture above. The caption he added to the photo was “U Kno its time 2 turn up #$quadlife”, besides the great grammatical skills that Waka offers, I think this means he got a new Maybach. Could just be a picture he took of some car in a drive way, but who knows. Can’t be makin’ that much off Fererrari Boyz.

Soulja Boy Buys $55 Million Jet

So for those of you hating on Soulja Boy, you can stop now. The dude still has a crazy amount of money from his Soulja Boy dance days and now he just went out and bought himself a new jet… it was $55 million. Thought this news was pretty interesting considering the fact that a lot of people say Soulja Boy is struggling. Hopefully the news is true too, you know how people just try and stunt all the time but everything is rented haha.

Microsoft Buys Skype for $8.5 Billion!

Now I don’t know what your paycheck looks like, but the guy who started Skype just got one (yes just one) that was worth $8.5 billion. Microsoft’s acquisition of Skype is it’s biggest yet as an effort to try and catch up to Apple and Google. A lot of the articles I have read say that Microsoft feels it is slumping in competition with the two leaders (Apple and Google) and wants to advance its market in the Smart Phone business. With the purchase of Skype they will now be able to adapt it to their smart phone’s video chat features. I’m interested in seeing how this develops. Lots of cash spent, this better pay off.
