Steve Jobs Tribute Macbook Pro

Can’t believe it’s already been one year since Steve Jobs passed away, one of the greatest innovators to ever walk this earth. Apple is doing something special in his honor by releasing three very limited edition Macbook Pros in his name. Yeah that’s right, only three are being made and sold at auction. As you can see from the picture above the logo is also redesigned to add the silhouette of Jobs’ face. Click HERE for more info.

Apple Announces New iPhone, Additional Products

Well, we’re here folks. Apple has announced the new iPhone, along with some very important details about the phone, new operating system, and components like chargers, headphones, and more. Here’s a play-by-play in case you missed out!

20% lighter is what they’re touting for the iPhone5 in comparison to the iPhone 4s.

The charger has changed. After almost a decade of the proprietary Apple charger, they’ve now introduced Lightning, a smaller, more efficient charger that will be integrated into all of their devices moving forward.

Apple has announced their new Maps service. No more Google Maps, the new Maps service from Apple will integrate yelp reviews and features 100 million built-in markings for notable locations around the world. Pretty spiffy.

from Mashable
The iPhone 5 has a larger screen than previous versions, at 4 inches, with a resolution of 1,136 x 640 or 326 pixels per inch — which is still a “retina” display, as Apple defines it. The larger screen has a widescreen 16:9 aspect ratio and has lengthened the phone overall, but it also allows for a total of six rows of apps on the screen — five rows on the “pages” along with the permanent single row along the bottom.

Apps designed for previous iPhones won’t scale to the new screen — they’ll appear with black bars on the two ends of the screen.

The phone, which is said to be made entirely of glass and aluminum, is also thinner overall. It’s just 7.6 mm thin, 18% thinner than the iPhone 4S. It also weighs 112 grams, 20% lighter than the 4S.

Apple’s vice president of worldwide marketing, Phil Schiller, says the iPhone 5 is “the most beautiful product we have ever made.”

The iPhone 5 is also the company’s first 4G LTE phone. The phone will be compatible with the high-speed LTE networks of AT&T, Verizon and Sprint, in addition to many global LTE networks: Virgin in Canada, Singtel and Telstra in Australasia, and Deutsche Telekom in Europe.

The new model also includes “ultrafast” wireless, which incorporates the 5GHz 802.11n Wi-Fi, giving the iPhone 5 more bandwith overall.

The new iPhone includes improvements to voice calls, too. It’s now equipped with three separate microphones — on the front, on the bottom and on the back. Apple says the multiple mics will help Siri’s performance. The earpiece is equipped with more noise cancellation, and there’s also now “wideband audio” technology, which is said to make voice calls more natural — similar to HTC’s HD Voice tech in the Evo 4G LTE.

The iPhone 5 goes on sale Sept. 21 in the U.S., Canada, Japan, the U.K., Germany, France, Australia, Hong Kong and Singapore. It has similar pricing to its predecessors, starting at $199 for 16GB of storage with a two-year contract, and there are 32GB and 64GB models available for $299 and $399, respectively. Pre-orders start Sept. 14. Apple says the phone will be available in 100 countries on 240 wireless carriers by the end of the year.

Follow Mashable for all of the information on the rest of Apple’s updates for today. I’m sure there’s much more to be talked about!

Apple is keeping the iPhone 4 and iPhone 4S in its lineup. The iPhone 4 (8GB) is now free with a contract, and the iPhone 4S (16GB) costs $99. The iPhone 3GS appears to be discontinued.

Steve Jobs revealed LSD use to the Government

When Steve Jobs was being enlisted by the U.S. Government to help with National Security he had to give a background check and report any criminal activity while moving on in the process. He also had to come clean about his LSD use, here’s what he said in the file…

“I used LSD from approximately 1972 to 1974,” Throughout that period of time I used the LSD approximately ten to fifteen times. I would ingest the LSD on a sugar cube or in a hard form of gelatin. I would usually take the LSD when I was by myself. I have no words to explain the effect the LSD had on me, although, I can say it was a positive life changing experience for me and I am glad I went through that experience.”_ Source
