According to Mark Cuban, owner of the team, the Dallas Mavericks will not be retiring Jason Kidd’s jersey because he went to the New York Knicks. He actually added that there is “no chance” this could ever happen. Looks like someone is a bit heated about the situation, mainly because Kidd initially said he would return to the Mavericks. The one isn’t as bad as Lebron going to the Miami Heat, but a lot of bridges were burned in the departure.
Looks like Lamar Odom is getting tired of that Mavericks uniform and wants to go play with his friends in New York. If he went there some damage could definitely be done with the players they already have on the squad. Here’s a more in depth look.
The Mavs will attempt to trade Odom before June 29. Any team that has Odom on its roster by that date will be responsible for paying him the $2.4 million in guaranteed money he’s owed next year.
If Dallas can’t get rid of Odom in a trade, it will likely waive him and be responsible for paying Odom his guaranteed money. That’s something Dallas would obviously rather avoid.
If the Mavericks are forced to waive Odom, he would become a free agent. In that scenario, the Queens native would likely be looking at a significant pay cut from the $8.2 he was scheduled to make this season.
Would he be interested in coming to New York at a discounted rate?
A source with knowledge of Odom’s thinking says yes. The source says the Knicks would be “on the top of his list” if Odom became a free agent.
“Lamar is big on being comfortable,” the source said. “And New York is somewhere he can be comfortable.”_ Source
So what’s up with all these athletes getting in trouble with the law all of the sudden? I mean DeShawn already looks like he’s asking for it with the face tats and all, but damn man you just won the championship. I guess he was arrested for public intoxication the other night in Dallas. This happened Tuesday night when police got reports of an intoxicated man walking around an unknown complex. Come to find out when they get there it’s NBA champ Mr. Stevenson. The police report said that he was too drunk to walk on his own and could have been a danger to others. I guess you have to celebrate for a few days right?
Yes the Mavs won just how I didn’t want it. Even though I’ve been pullin’ for the Heat this whole time it’s cool to see Jason Kidd get a ring and Dirk played his ass off so I guess he deserves it too. Here’s Marion on the mic at club Liv in Miami asking for 100 bottles of Rozay. That’s some rich kids stuff right there. Here’s the video proof.
I don’t know if you caught all the gang signs Terry was throwing up after every shot he made but he also added this little shout out to all his blues brothers out there. After he hit a three in the second half he says “Yeah I’m a real crip” and you can head it loud n’ clear. Here it is.
So as we all know the Miami Heat won game 3 last night to go up 2-1 in the Finals series. A lot of people have been questioning whether Lebron is doing all the work or whether it’s D-Wade. The thing that most people tend to oversee is the fact that basketball is a team sport. Just because Lebron James doesn’t go off one night and D-Wade does doesn’t mean reporters have to keep shifting the weight on who the biggest star is. Here’s Lebron after the game at the press conference answering a rather stupid question about the game. Pretty funny stuff…
So Lebron has obviously been ballin’ out on the basketball court winning game 1 of the NBA finals against the Dallas Mavericks, but he’s also got something else on his mind, opening his own retail store. The King announced he will launch a new luxury concept store in Miami in the Fall.
“The store, which will open with a mix of apparel, footwear, printed materials and lifestyle accouterments will be called Unknwn. Confirmed brands include the likes of OriginalFake, A.P.C. and Nike Tier Zero.”_Hypebeast.com

Like I said before, the Heat are going to run all over this Dallas Mavs team. Dirk and co. didn’t really have a chance from the start. I love how the Heat always start the game out pretty soft (keepin’ it close) and then turn it on right when it matters. They pretty much toyed with the Mavs the whole time. Did you see those dunks Lebron threw down at the end of the game? That was way too swagged out. So that’s that, the Heat take game 1 in Miami winning 92 to 84. Lebron James lead all scorers on the Heat with 24 pts, Wade had 22, and Chris Bosh ended up with 19. Can’t stop the Big Three in Miami, LET’S GO!
UPDATE: Here’s the “exclamation point”
You bet your sweet candy ass they are. Sure the whole Big Three just came together (or the Heatles, I like that one best) this year but that doesn’t matter any more. They are in the finals and I’m pretty sure if you’ve made it this far then the game should pretty well figured out by now. Here are some highlights from the big three throughout the playoffs and as they move their way to the top. I’m rooting for the HEAT and you should know that if you’ve been reading this blog on the regular. Lots of respect to Dirk, but this time it’s an all out battle. Miami Heat 2010-2011 NBA champs…I’m callin’ it now.
Tip-off is at 9 P.M. Eastern (that’s 6 o’ clock for you West Siders)
Just got this new track sent to me by Academics out of Seattle. If only there was a way Lebron could get a hold of this track before he gets on the court for game 1. I’m all about the Heat over here so tomorrow is a big day for sure. Anyways check out the new cut, a must listen.
