atrak-richkidsbrand

We can’t wait until A-Trak comes out here to judge the west coast final for Redbull’s Thre3Style DJ competition in Seattle. Him and Mark Ronson got together in London recently and put on one crazy show. Here’s a video recap of all that went down.

Make sure to come out to the Thre3Style Battle February 25th at Foundation where RK’s very own McClarron will be hosting the event with Four Color Zack.

FAIL: Pretending to DJ Live on TV (Equipment not even Plugged in)

This is probably one of the funniest/corniest fails we have ever seen. Not sure what country this was in but notice that the guy DJing doesn’t even have his equipment plugged in. The footage is just hilarious over all because the chick is OBVIOUSLY not singing live either.

A Rich Experience: Erykah Badu and The Cannabinoids in Seattle

“A Rich Experience” is something we’re going to start doing just to give you some insight on what the brand has been doing when we’re not in the office working to bring you the best in clothing and entertainment. As always “Rich is not what you have, it’s who you have beside you”, so money isn’t necessary to have a “rich” experience, just great people and a great time.

For this rich experience a few of us from the brand got to go out and watch Erykah Badu perform live at the Paramount Theatre in Seattle. Now we don’t know about you, but to us Erykah Badu is a legendary artist so this seemed like we were checking something off a bucket list. Seeing Erykah Badu and her band The Cannibinoids live is something everyone should experience in their life, at least once. The night was amazing as she lit up the stage with her band behind her giving Seattle one hell of a performance. Not only is Erykah Badu a legend vocally, but she sure knows how to put on a show, great stage presence.

DJ Big Texas

Another great part about the show was that we somewhat got to be involved, at least the brand was. Her Dj, DJ Big Texas was rockin’ one of our Propaganda tees (purple) on stage along with our signature “Hooligan Head” hat while Erykah Badu performed. Erykah Badu’s personal DJ (DJ A1) was also later spotted at the after party wearing a “Nautical” tee from our Summer line that dropped this year. It was cool to see that they loved the brand and could represent in our hometown. Erykah Badu’s musical director (RC) also put up a picture yesterday wearing on of our “RK Hooligan” v-necks, he is a Grammy nominated director that also tours with Snoop Dogg. A big thanks to the whole crew for reppin’ the brand, it was really cool to meet everyone and see that they loved our message and what we stand for. Make sure to look out for these guys if they’re ever coming to you town, this is one show you do not want to miss.

Ellie Goulding – Anything Could Happen (Birdy Nam Nam Remix)

Chances are this album is going to get remixed alot. Ellie Goulding’s follow-up to her debut album Lights is set to drop very soon. The title of the new record is Halcyon, and will feature the original version of this track, along with a ton of others which I’m sure will be incredible. In the mean time, listen to this dope ass remix of Anything Could Happen by party-ready producers Birdy Nam Nam.

A$AP Rocky x Diplo in new Alexander Wang Ad

Alexander Wang recently ran a new campaign including his buddies A$AP Rocky and Diplo. This ad kind of taps into their creative zones and let’s us know what kind of person each artist is. Penn Badgley also stars in the commercial.

DJ Khaled facing Eviction over Unpaid Rent

It now makes sense why DJ Khaled is pushing his new album so much, he’s got rent to pay. All jokes aside DJ Khaled may be facing eviction from his apartment in Miami after being charged to pay $55,000 in back rent according to TMZ. Khaled had agreed to pay two payments of $66,000 for rent when he signed his lease and made the first payment but never came through on the second one. So now the owner of the building has filed an eviction notice and is suing Khaled for the left over money. Hopefully this all gets cleared up and doesn’t ruin his album promo buzz too much.
