We’ve been busy shooting the lookbook today for our Spring line which comes out on March 18th, but had to find time to post this. Justin Timberlake hosted SNL last night and it was seriously one of the best episodes to date. He was also the musical guest and performed both “Suit & Tie” with Jay-Z and “Mirrors”. At 2:17 mark of “Suit & Tie” he switches up the lines to the song and takes a subtle shot at Kanye West. Check it out below….
“My hits so sick, got rappers acting dramatic”
Had to catch this episode of Saturday Night Live once we heard that Kendrick Lamar was performing with Maroon 5′s Adam Levine hosting. Kendrick killed it as expected with a live band and performed both “Swimming Pools” and “Poetic Justice”. Would’ve been cool if Drake came out for the second track but still a great performance. The digital short that K Dot was part of with Adam Levine and the Lonely Island was solid too. Here you go…
And now for the performances…
Looks like 106 & Park got some new hosts really quick. At first there were rumors floating around that the show would be cancelled but that’s just what it was, a rumor. So here’s the four new hosts of 106 & Park including Bow Wow.
“BEVERLY HILLS, CA – Seth MacFarlane will host the 85th Academy Awards®, telecast producers Craig Zadan and Neil Meron announced today. This will be MacFarlane’s first appearance on Oscar’s stage. The 85th Academy Awards will be broadcast live on Oscar® Sunday, February 24, on the ABC Television Network.”
There were a lot of people out there pretty bitter about the fact that Randy Jackson was not judging American Idol any more. Well they can calm down now because Randy is back despite rumors of him leaving. It’s been getting pretty intense trying to replace Jackson and the person in the lead was Enrique Iglesias.
Hulu is now acting just like a television network and joined a third-party distributor to sell its original shows overseas. The arrangement is between Hulu and FremantleMedia which means that FremantleMedia will have the first shot at shopping around Hulu’s shows to international TV channels. This is a very impressive move considering that fact that Hulu is an online video website turning into a television network overseas. For the entire story click here.
Lindsay Lohan hosted SNL last night and according to most reviews did a really good job. Here’s what her opening monologue looked like. For the entire episode click here.
This is a great way to start the show. LL Cool J came out, ignored what he was originally supposed to do, and said a beautiful prayer for Whitney Houston. Very emotional.
This is what LL Cool J had to say about hosting the big show.
“I’m thrilled to be a part of music’s biggest night,” says LL. “I will always have fond memories of my first Grammy Awards and to now be hosting the Grammy show, in the company of so many other incredible artists, is a dream come true. Great performances and great music – it’s going to be a great night.”
Nick Cannon and Mariah Carey spent the holidays in Aspen, Colorado recently and while there Cannon experienced a kidney failure. Here’s what Mariah Carey had to say about the incident.
“This is us in the hospital – role reversal; Last year it was me attached to the machines (after having dembabies) and Nick was there with me through it, and now here we are.
We’re trying to be as festive as possible under the circumstances but please keep Nick in your thoughts because this is very painful. They tried to kick me out of the hospital but here I am pon de bed with Mr. C.
We’re doing OK but we’re “straaaaaanded in Aspen”. #DramaticDivaPlace (I know, we could be in a lot worse places) but the truth is as long as we’re together, we’re OK. I’m not trying to make light out of the situation because it’s a serious moment that’s very tough on all of us so please keep us and our family in your prayers. LYM”
