Jay-Z sues Chef over Chicken Wings

Don’t come between Jay-Z and his chicken wings. Former 40/40 club chef Mike Shand is now being sued by Jigga for leaving the place and taking some very important chicken wing recipes along with the spices. Here’s what Mike Shand’s lawyer had to say about the case…

“The spice-mix recipe that Mike developed is his own recipe. 40/40 terminated him, then had the audacity to sue him for his recipes. He gave them all apart from this spice-mix because it is his own. Mike had a wonderful relationship with Jay-Z and Beyonce for many years.”

Memory Lane Monday: Jay-Z’s “Rapcity Freestyle”

Usually you’d wait to post a throwback video on Thursdays according to “typical blog etiquette”, but we’re not so typical around here so how about we go with Memory Lane Monday? For this week’s video we’ve got Jay-Z on the mic for Tigga’s Rapcity show on BET. We’re sure you all remember “The Bassment” and how you only brought your best when it was time to go in. In the clip below Jay-Z is freestyling for the last “Bassment” session ever. You might recognize some of the lyrics in this “freestyle”, but still a classic moment. HOV!

UPDATE: This video just recently surfaced of A$AP Rocky freestyling with his friends before he got famous. Also a great video from way back.

Rocawear Partners with the New York Yankees

I swear just when you think Jay-Z is done making one huge business move, he hits us with another. Apparently his clothing company Rocawear has officially partnered with the New York Yankees which can only mean more customers. The clothing brand will be branded and promoted throughout the regular season and with the amount of Yankees fans out there it is sure to sell.

“Rocawear announced today a sponsorship with 27 time World Series Champions, the New York Yankees. For the 2012 season, Rocawear will have branded signage in Yankee stadium and integrated promotions throughout the season. Jameel Spencer, EVP Marketing, men’s division, Iconix Brand Group, Inc., commented, “Jay-Z has been a long-time fan of the Yankees, regularly attends games and has even included his favorite team in song lyrics, so this was a natural partnership. Rocawear, along with Jay-Z are very excited to be working with the Yankees for the 2012 season. We feel another championship in ’12!”

New visuals from Beyonce for the song ” I Care”. The song is off her album “4″ which surprisingly wasn’t nominated for any Grammys, guess it wasn’t her best effort. Still a great album though.

Kanye and Jay-Z Perform “Ni**as in Paris” 10 x in Los Angeles

Okay this has really gotten out of hand but I guess I can’t say anything until I’ve been to the show. Apparently the “Watch The Throne” duo has upped their “Ni**as in Paris” encore to 10 times! If they’re doing the entire song that’s around 34 minutes of just one track. I’m interested to hear feedback from people seeing if they like this repetition or not. Either way it’s Kanye West and Jay-Z so you can’t really complain. Here’s the 10 time footage.
