tumblr_mn5sfeMXsC1qefji2o1_500

As we all know by now, there have been some horrifying tornadoes rolling through Oklahoma City. You can always help by donating to the Red Cross as did Kevin Durant of the Oklahoma City Thunder. He donated a tremendous $1 Million to the relief fund. Good to see these high paying athletes putting their money towards helping people in need.

We’d never really expect to wake up to a video like this, but you gotta give credit where credit’s due. Carlos Delfino threw down on Kevin Durant last night and he did it with authority. Check out the video below…

Marcin Gortat was in the Wrong Place at the Wrong Time last Night (Video)

It’s really tough to do anything when Kevin Durant is speeding towards you down the lane, but JEEZE! Gortat got absolutely demolished on this dunk.

New NBA Rule: 90 Seconds to get to the Court after Player Intros

New Rule: From the time pregame introductions end, teams will have 90 seconds to return to the court and be ready for the opening tip. Looks like Lebron James will have to make that powder toss a lot faster than usual. Here’s what Kevin Durant had to say about the new rule…

“I personally don’t like it,” Durant said of the 90-second rule. “Every player in this league has routines they do with their teammates, rituals they do before the game and before they walk on the floor. The fans like it. The fans enjoy it. You see the fans mimicking the guys who do their stuff before the game. To cut that down really don’t make no sense. Why would you do it? I really don’t agree with it, but I don’t make the rules.”

Lil’ B and Kevin Durant Playing 1 on 1?

Gotta love when rappers and basketball players interact. This time we’ve the BASED GOD himself Lil’ B challenging Kevin Durant to a game of 1 on 1. We sure hope this goes down because it would be hilarious to watch. Knowing Lil’ B he’ll probably take the game footage and make a music video out of it. Here’s the Tweets to prove it…

Team USA defeats Argentina, on to the Gold

Team USA handled their business against Argentina today, beating them 109 to 83. Durant lead all scorers with 19 points and Lebron followed with 18. Ginobli had the most for Argentina with 18 points. Team USA will now face Spain to play for the Gold medal on Sunday.

Stalley Dream Team Nike Commercial

You know MMG is running the game when the quietest rapper on their roster is getting Nike commercials. Here’s Stalley with a new “Dream Team” commercial from Nike about the Olympics. Really cool how they have David Robinson, Charles Barkley, Scottie Pippen, Lebron James, and Kevin Durant do some narrating too. That jacket is fresh!

Lebron James and the Miami Heat Celebrating at Club LIV (Pics)

Looks like photos of the celebration are starting to come soon and they went where we thought they would, Club LIV. Lil’ Wayne and others had to be there and we can’t wait until a video surfaces. Until then we have the photos in this post. Stay tuned for more information. Apparently at this time $200,000 has been spent on champagne already.

Lebron Gets his Ring + Finals MVP

So the greatest moment of 2012 just happened apart from our Summer line dropping tomorrow. Lebron James and the Miami Heat have won the NBA championship giving “The King” his first championship ring of his career. Now all the talk about him not having a ring can stop and hopefully the respect for his skill on the court can go up. We do not think Lebron James is better than Michael Jordan, but the man has had one hell of a career and this could open the flood gates to many more championships for Miami. To specific the series ended with Miami taking the crown 4-1, winning one in Oklahoma and the rest in their home town. The crowd was dressed in all white as always and you could feel the intensity right from the jump ball.

The first quarter was pretty close with Miami leading by 4 to 6 to points the entire quarter (Ended w/ Miami leading 31-26). Then the second quarter started started, which was way different with everybody on the heat squad scoring including Norris Cole, Shane Battier, and Mike Miller. Miller had 4 fouls in 9 minutes but this did not hurt them too much as he is a role player. Wade also got into some early foul trouble and had to sit most of the 2nd quarter. Lebron made some very smart plays by finding the open man around the 3-point line or getting in the paint to go to the line if fouled. The Thunder looked stunned at this point committing one offensive foul after the other and missing plenty of open jumpers, dunks, and lay ups (2nd quarter ended w/ Miami leading 59-49).

In the third quarter it was looking like the Thunder had a good pep talk in the locker room during halftime because they came out firing and scoring. This seemed to work for a while but then Miami retaliated and built up a 14 point lead fast. It also started to get chippy out there with Chalmers and Durant getting in eachother’s faces. No technicals were called but you could feel the intensity on the floor. After that it seemed like all of Miami turned into the Monstars from Space Jam by scoring every time they touched the ball no matter who had it. Dunks, threes, awesome passes…. it all went down. Miami finished the 3rd quarter leading 95-71

Once the fourth quarter started it was pretty obvious who was going to win this game. The Thunder looked like they didn’t know where they were throwing up random turnovers while the Heat stayed in perfect form. Honestly surprised that Mike Miller didn’t get Finals MVP for his one performance this game making all those threes, but in all seriousness it makes sense that Lebron got it. If Mike Miller’s performance was in a 2k game he would of had the flame around him the entire time. With their lead still in tact the Heat kept pushing to the hoop with Lebron James leading them. Spolstra called an early time out after seeing that a couple minutes in the 4th weren’t going their way. They recuperated, got their game faces back on, and dominated as they had the entire game. Oh and Lebron James got a triple double, no big deal.

The final score was 121-106 with Lebron James getting his first ring EVER at 27 years old. He ended up with 26 points, 11 rebounds, and 13 assists. Couldn’t be more stoked over here at Rich Kids about the win and can’t wait to see all the after party photos. For more information and final stats click HERE.

Heat Win Game 4 (Up 3-1 in the Series)

Now that I think about it this post is only going up because I am a huge Lebron James fan, but as you saw today the Heat took out OKC to win game 4 104 to 98. Lebron James lead Miami with a near triple double scoring 26 points, grabbing 9 rebounds, and dishing out 12 assists. Some might say he played the ultimate game, giving the ball first and scoring when necessary. Dwyane Wade and Chalmers both added 25 points to the total establishing a new big 3 for this game. On OKC’s side Westbrook probably had the best game with 43 points, 5 assists, and 7 rebounds, Kevin Durant also added 28 points. What looked like a great start for the Thunder in the beginning (up 15 points) ended up being chased down and surpassed as the Heat moved on to win game 4. Miami is up 3-1 now in the finals and according to the history books no team in the NBA has ever fought their way back to win it all. Looks like the trophy is headed to Lebron for the first time and those critics can finally stop talking about him not having any hardware. Here’s some highlights from the game.
