Swatch is a such a slept on brand. Don’t get me wrong, I still love my G-Shocks, but Swatch has been a classic timepiece designer since the 80s with so many iconic pieces. Today, September 14th and tomorrow the 15th, TimeCrafters at the Park Ave. Armory will be showcasing the Blum collection along with introducing the Blum Collection Book for purchase. It’s worth over $6 M’s!
The Blum Collection is one of the largest collections of Swatch watches in the world, which reflects the outstanding story of Swatch. It was sold at a historical amount of USD 6,618,560. The current owner of the Blum Collection, a mainland Chinese collector that wishes to remain anonymous, graciously let Swatch use the collection for exhibition purposes for a limited amount of time.
The Blum Collection was assembled over many years by Swiss businessman Peter Blum and his wife Linda, passionate collectors of Swatch watches since the brand’s early days. The exceptional assembly comprises 4,370 elements, including a large number of prototypes, hybrids and production variants never brought to market. Many of the prototypes date from the extraordinary period prior to commercialisation of the first Swatch watches in the early 1980s, and are thus extremely rare. Among the most interesting and sought-after by collectors are a number of prototypes designed by the American artist Keith Haring, as well as the artist’s legendary Swatch watches Modele avec Personnage, Milles Pattes, Serpent and Blanc sur Noir. Additional rarities include Swatch watches created by artists Mimmo Paladino, Alfred Hofkunst and Sam Francis.
The TimeCrafters exhibit will be open to the public on September 14th and 15th from 10AM – 8PM.
Park Avenue Armory 643 Park Avenue (between 66th and 67th Streets) NYC

This is hilarious. Drake got on Twitter the other night and Tweeted about how hard getting your first $1,000,000 is and then oil billionaire T. Boone Pickens tweeted him back completely stunting on him. Here’s how it went down…
I saw this coming a long time ago, just when you want to hate on Bieber for whatever reason, he steps to the number one spot (according to People magazine). In one year he made $53 million mainly from his movie “Never Say Never” but a lot also came from his new fragrance “Someday”. He beats out Miley Cyrus, Nick Jonas, and Taylor Lautner for the top spots. $53 million at 17 years old… wow, that would be crazy.
Looks like with the lockout lurking over players’ heads, some people are already starting to make big decisions. According to ESPN, Deron Williams is planning on going to play overseas for the national team of Turkey. A lot of analysts are saying this decision is way too big of a risk considering that D-Will still has $34 mill left on his contract with the Nets. Turkey is willing to pay him $200,000 a month on a $5 million contract. Selling out I guess…
