Michael Jordan weighs in on the “Dream Team” Comparison once Again

Michael Jordan had already said that the 1992 Dream Team would kill the current team USA roster, but he’s done it again now with some more detail. Here’s what Jordan had to say (again) about the comparison…

“I just felt like we had enough size that we could contend with the 2012 team,” he said of the team that was without elite shot blocker Dwight Howard and relied heavily on the Knicks’ Tyson Chandler at center. “I think one of the things the 2012 team lacked was size, you know? We probably would have attacked them from inside and outside, and I think that would have been pretty much solidified [for the '92 team's defense] with shot-blockers as well as perimeter defensive players.”

“In [terms] of how the game is played from an offensive standpoint and a defense standpoint — from a team standpoint — I feel like we were much more solid defensively. We could definitely guard the perimeter and force them to penetrate to shot-blockers, which I felt like would’ve made a big difference with this team in 2012. They only had one shot-blocker. Granted, I know LeBron [James] and some of those guys can still block shots. It’s not the same defense and it’s not the same intensity.”

“Granted, I think those guys are much more athletic than maybe we were at that particular time, but I’d like to think that we were a little bit smarter and well-groomed about playing at that level of basketball,” Jordan said. “So in all honesty, I don’t think we would’ve had any problems with them, as much as they think they probably would’ve given us a lot more difficulties. I think our team would’ve been a lot better in terms of all-around basketball game.”

Michael Phelps starts Louis Vuitton Campaign

Even though the Olympics seemed longer than ever this time around, some athletes are just getting started when it comes to endorsements and new campaign opportunities. Michael Phelps is obviously first up being the most decorated Olympian ever with a new Louis Vuitton campaign. The picture for the ad has been making its rounds online today because of how it was shot by Annie Leibovitz to look very moody and provocative. What do you think of Phelps taking on this campaign? The last athlete to be featured for Louis Vuitton was Muhammad Ali this Summer, not a bad look.

LeBron James debuts the “LeBron Xs” at Gold Medal Game

If you got up early enough and watched the game this morning, you could see that Lebron wasn’t wearing his typical sneakers that he’s been wearing throughout the Olympic games. Instead he was spotted in his own new shoe, the LeBron X. Nike made a great decision by having Lebron debut these during the gold medal game and the kicks should be available to the public very soon.

Lebron James ties another Jordan Record

We’re pretty sure all the negative people out there can stop talking sh*t about Lebron at this point. Him and Team USA just defeated Spain to take Gold in the Olympics and Lebron is now the only person to get the NBA title, Olympic Gold, MVP, and finals MVP all in one season, along with Michael Jordan. The final score of the game was 100-107 with Kevin Durant leading all scorers by dropping 30 points.

Usain Bolt wins Gold… Again

Just when we thought Usain Bolt was done with all the winning he comes out and does it again for the 200-meter race. This makes him the first man to ever repeat as double Olympic sprint champion. After the race Bolt said “It’s what I came here to do, I am now a legend”. He also added “I’m also the greatest athlete to live. I’ve got nothing left to prove”.

Kobe Bryant taking shots at his Team USA Teammates

Now that Kobe Bryant is 34 and has been deemed the “old guy” on the team, he’s been doing a whole lot of trash talking. When recently asked if he has learned anything from his teammates he had this to say…

“No, I don’t know if I know it all, but I know more than they do.”

Then when asked about his post game Kobe also said that even though he’s a guard he’s definitely got the best post game on the team. He then was asked if Tyson Chandler had the 2nd best post game and said this…

“No, no, no. Not other than Tyson Chandler. I’m the best post player on this team, period. Tyson Chandler is not in that conversation.”

Looks like Kobe doesn’t care what his teammates think about anything he says and will always continue to toot his horn no matter who he’s around. Hopefully these finals get over, we get the gold, and everyone can move on,

Michael Phelps dating model Megan Rossee

All we’ve heard about Michael Phelps recently is how he’s the most decorated Olympic athlete ever with 22 medals and 18 gold, but who’s the man dating? This news just surfaced confirming that he is currently seeing model Megan Rossee. Looks like the man with everything just got a lot more. Congrats to Phelps on all the crazy accomplishments, at this point he’s probably the most decorated human being walking this planet. Click HERE for more info.

Kobe Bryant shirtless w/ the Ladies at After Party in Barcelona (Pics)

Kobe Bryant hosted an after party earlier this week in Barcelona and was spotted shirtless with some ladies in what looks like a hotel suite. Not sure who else was in attendance but according to the photos we can only see three people. These pics have been making the rounds online today and are surfacing on just about every blog.
