Looks like hip-hop mogul Birdman took a trip overseas recently to sign some new talent. This time it’s not hip-hop or rock, but EDM production duo The Stafford Brothers. This is the first EDM act to ever sign to YMCMB and they hail from Australia. They already have a single on the way called “Hello” featuring Lil’ Wayne and Christina Millian.
Looks like another Def Jam artist just inked a deal with Roc Nation, he goes by name of Eljah Blake and just joined many other notables like Meek Mill, Rihanna, Melanie Fiona, Ester Dean and many more. He appeared on Rick Ross’ “God Forgives I Don’t” album and also wrote Usher’s “Climax”. Great look for the young up-n-coming artist.
We all want the Sonics back here in Seattle especially now that the Thunder have made it to the finals. According to several reports DMX is supposed to get out soon and says that Rick Ross reached out to him about signing to Maybach Music. This would be awesome, DMX is a much better fit to MMG’s gangster persona than Wale. For sure want to see this happen. Here’s what X had to say to VIBE magazine about the issue.

That’s crazy man. Because I don’t know if you heard but right now Rick Ross is on fire. Maybach Music Group signed up a whole bunch of people. Wale, Pill–and they’re really doing it man. That would be a crazy power move if you guys joined up.
Yeah. I have respect for him and he expressed interest that he wanted to work with me while I was out. So I definitely want do a song with him, but I don’t know about the record label thing. I would have to see what his camp is like and feel people out. I’m not the average artist.
