Michael Jordan weighs in on the “Dream Team” Comparison once Again

Michael Jordan had already said that the 1992 Dream Team would kill the current team USA roster, but he’s done it again now with some more detail. Here’s what Jordan had to say (again) about the comparison…

“I just felt like we had enough size that we could contend with the 2012 team,” he said of the team that was without elite shot blocker Dwight Howard and relied heavily on the Knicks’ Tyson Chandler at center. “I think one of the things the 2012 team lacked was size, you know? We probably would have attacked them from inside and outside, and I think that would have been pretty much solidified [for the '92 team's defense] with shot-blockers as well as perimeter defensive players.”

“In [terms] of how the game is played from an offensive standpoint and a defense standpoint — from a team standpoint — I feel like we were much more solid defensively. We could definitely guard the perimeter and force them to penetrate to shot-blockers, which I felt like would’ve made a big difference with this team in 2012. They only had one shot-blocker. Granted, I know LeBron [James] and some of those guys can still block shots. It’s not the same defense and it’s not the same intensity.”

“Granted, I think those guys are much more athletic than maybe we were at that particular time, but I’d like to think that we were a little bit smarter and well-groomed about playing at that level of basketball,” Jordan said. “So in all honesty, I don’t think we would’ve had any problems with them, as much as they think they probably would’ve given us a lot more difficulties. I think our team would’ve been a lot better in terms of all-around basketball game.”

Kobe Bryant shirtless w/ the Ladies at After Party in Barcelona (Pics)

Kobe Bryant hosted an after party earlier this week in Barcelona and was spotted shirtless with some ladies in what looks like a hotel suite. Not sure who else was in attendance but according to the photos we can only see three people. These pics have been making the rounds online today and are surfacing on just about every blog. Pic of the Day: USA Basketball Team Takes a Nap Together

Once again the pranksters of the NBA were on the prowl snapping photos of sleeping players and this time Kevin Love got Chris Paul, Lebron James, Anthony Davis, Russell Westbrook, Harden, and Deron Williams all napping together. Anthony Davis looks hilarious and Chris Paul looks like a drooling baby, classic.

Lebron’s Kicks and Uniform for Today’s Game

These are the kicks and uniform that Lebron James will be wearing today when Team USA faces Argentina. He will be rockin’ the 2012 Nike + Hyperdunk “Olympics” which were released on June 29th, 2012.

The many Sleeping Faces of Team USA

For some weird reason NBA players love catching one another sleep, gather around that one person, and then take pics of it. Here’s some of the most recent ones Team USA has taken capturing Carmelo Anthony, James Harden, and Russell Westbrook.

Stalley Dream Team Nike Commercial

You know MMG is running the game when the quietest rapper on their roster is getting Nike commercials. Here’s Stalley with a new “Dream Team” commercial from Nike about the Olympics. Really cool how they have David Robinson, Charles Barkley, Scottie Pippen, Lebron James, and Kevin Durant do some narrating too. That jacket is fresh!

Team USA Scrimmage Part 2

Team USA went out to do another scrimmage for the military and oh boy did they put on a show. Everything is nice in the video below but wait until the last play at the end. Lebron throws down one mean dunk with a very creative assist from Kevin Durant.

Unfortunately this was also the same scrimmage that Blake Griffin was injured in tearing his meniscus. He’s had knee problems before and bounced back so hopefully that’s the same case here. The best part about the scrimmage was that it took place in Las Vegas, which we all know is probably one of the most entertaining places in the world. So it’s good to get all the NBA players out there to have a good time together.

Kobe Bryant agrees to play Kyrie Irving for $50,000

Kyrie Irving and Kobe Bryant were fooling around at Team USA practice the other day and ended up betting $50,000 to play one on one. Irving has a lot of confidence asking Kobe to play, he is one of the best players in basketball history after all.
